What is the process of working with Sport Sister consultancy?.

At Sport Sister, we’ve started working with a number of new clients recently for the consultancy side of the business.  Sometimes I feel the consultancy world can be unclear, so I thought it would be helpful to explain what the process often looks like when we start to work on a new project.

Generally, there are two main ways that we start to work with an organisation on a project.  The first is probably the most straightforward and usually applies to clients we’ve worked with before or those who are familiar with what we do and who we are.  They often approach us with a brief and we’ll arrange a call to ensure we fully understand what they require.  They’ll either have a set budget and we let them know whether we can complete the work required for the budget that has been set, or they ask us to provide them with a quote for the work. Sometimes there will be an additional interview stage if the client is considering multiple potential organisations for the project.  Once both parties are happy, we progress to contracts and getting started.  Relatively straightforward and usually runs without any major issues.

As the business continues to grow, we’re starting to have more conversations with new organisations that we haven’t worked with before, or even met before so, unsurprisingly, that process often involves additional steps.  It can vary but often it looks something like this:

1. We arrange an introductory call so both organisations can outline what they do, and we can start to get an idea of the challenges this organisation may be looking to overcome, and the support they require.

2. We follow up with a proposal outlining the potential areas for collaboration or support.

3. The organisation lets us know which areas suggested they would be interested in taking forward.  They either inform us of the budget they have available and we tailor the proposal as required, or we provide a quote for the project.

4. Once both parties are happy we progress to contracts and getting the project started!

It’s actually quite simple, and it can vary from client to client, but that’s usually how things work.  The projects we get involved in vary massively in size, from 3 days to 2 years!  So if you need some project management services, or some expertise in women’s and girls’ sport, get in touch, and let’s talk about how we can help you achieve your goals.
