We’ve just wrapped up Season 2 of the Sport Sister Podcast and I’m already thinking about Season 3 which will be released later this year.  I’ve written previously about my process for identifying guests; generally, it works very well.

I’m always open to suggestions for topics and guests to join me on the podcast.  I also have a list of topics that I’m keen to cover because I think they’re important topics that need to be discussed.

So I thought I’d use this week’s blog post to share these topics with you.  Perhaps you’ll know someone who would be great to talk about these topics.  Maybe you would love to talk about them?

Here they are:

1. Making sport happen in inner city areas – Having worked in sport in London for over a decade, I know there are a number of additional challenges when it comes to providing sporting opportunities in inner city areas.  We’ve covered elements of this in previous episodes, but I’m really keen to talk to people about this in more depth.

2. Changing perceptions of women in sport – It feels like a lot of progress has been made in this area. Women’s sport is more visible than ever. But we still hear a lot of examples of negative comments about women in sport, especially women in media roles. So how has this changed, what still needs to change, and what can we do about it?

3. Providing positive early experiences of sport – I see so many examples of people doing amazing things to provide positive early experiences of sport. We know how important these early experiences are in building positive sporting habits and a love for being active.  So what are these people and organisations doing to provide positive early experiences? What is important to consider for our youngest sports participants?

4.  Alternative careers for women in sport – This is one I feel really passionate about. I’ve been fortunate to have a hugely enjoyable career in sport so far, and I want to highlight the variety of careers that are available for women in sport.  Fortunately, I do already have one guest lined up for this episode who has had a great career in sport…..but I need at least one more!

So it’s over to you! Are you involved in women’s and/or girls’ sport either professionally or as a volunteer, and want to talk about one of these subjects? Or do you know someone who would be great? Please get in touch – email natalie@sportsister.co.uk. I can’t wait to hear from you.
