Serena and Venus Williams together during a doubles match

I’ve mentioned before that we regularly receive compliments on the name Sport Sister, which is great to hear. Someone mentioned to us again this week that they loved the name and it prompted me to decide to have a bit of fun with this week’s blog post! So I bring you four of my favourite ‘Sport Sisters’, or sporting sisters technically but you get the gist….

1. Venus and Serena Williams (Tennis)

Arguably the most famous sister duo in tennis history, Venus and Serena Williams have redefined the sport with their unparalleled dominance and sheer athleticism. With a combined total of thirty Grand Slam singles titles between them, including numerous Wimbledon and US Open championships, the Williams sisters have cemented their legacy as two of the greatest tennis players of all time. Beyond their on-court prowess, Venus and Serena have also been trailblazers for diversity and inclusion in tennis, inspiring generations of young athletes around the world.

2. Mia and Kristin Hamm (Football/Soccer)

Women’s football fans will undoubtedly recognise the names Mia and Kristin Hamm, two sisters who left an indelible mark on the sport during their illustrious careers. Mia Hamm, widely regarded as one of the greatest female soccer players of all time, led the United States to multiple Olympic gold medals and FIFA World Cup victories. Kristin, while not as heralded as her sister, also enjoyed a successful career at the collegiate and professional levels, demonstrating the family’s undeniable talent and passion for the beautiful game.

3. Bronte and Cate Campbell (Swimming)

Hailing from Australia, Bronte and Cate Campbell have made waves in the world of swimming with their blistering speed and remarkable achievements in the pool. Both sisters have represented their country on the international stage, competing in multiple Olympic Games and World Championships. Known for their fierce rivalry and friendly competition, Bronte and Cate have pushed each other to new heights, setting world records and inspiring a new generation of Australian swimmers.

4. Justine and Chloe Dufour-Lapointe (Freestyle Skiing)

Hailing from Canada, Justine and Chloe Dufour-Lapointe have become synonymous with excellence in freestyle skiing, particularly in the discipline of moguls. The sisters made history at the 2014 Sochi Olympics when they became the first set of sisters to finish first and second in the same individual event. Known for their grace, precision, and unwavering support for one another, Justine and Chloe have inspired a new generation of Canadian skiers with their remarkable achievements and sisterly bond.

What an amazing line up of sporting sisters! What others can you think of? Get in touch with any that we might have missed.
