Barclays Game Changers.

Helping Youth Sport Trust deliver a key project during a critical time for the organisation

The challenge:

The Youth Sport Trust had an exciting new project launching in partnership with The Football Association – Barclays Game Changers.

This project would train ambassadors for girls’ football in schools, known as Barclays Game Changers, via a network of Athlete Mentors.

But they found themselves with a key staff member due to be responsible for the project leaving the organisation for a new role, resulting in a gap of 3 months whilst their replacement was appointed.

The solution:

Youth Sport Trust reached out to Sport Sister to manage the project during the interim period between staff recruitment.  This included:

  • Organising Barclays Schools Football Partnerships into clusters and appointing Cluster Coordinators to work with each partnership to identify their Barclays Game Changers
  • Briefing and supporting Cluster Coordinators throughout the training process
  • Working with Athlete Mentors to lead training with support of Cluster Coordinators
  • Ensuring all safeguarding procedures were followed throughout the project
  • Providing all Barclays Game Changers with welcome packs as part of their training
  • Managing effective communications and project updates with Youth Sport Trust and The Football Association

The benefits:

  • Ensured the project could continue on time and as planned
  • 185 Barclays Game Changers selected, trained, and deployed
  • Effective handover of the project to a newly appointed member of Youth Sport Trust staff
  • Integration with wider girls’ schools football programmes

“We contracted Natalie to project manage a girls football leadership programme for an interim period. This high profile programme was expertly managed by Natalie to ensure it launched on time and achieved the desired outcomes. Natalie is an excellent project manager who works meticulously to ensure all elements of a plan are delivered. We look forward to working with Natalie again in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending her.”
